Call for Articles, Papers| AWLA Day of the African Child Booklet [3rd Edition]

The African Women Lawyers Association, AWLA, Nigeria Chapter is calling for articles and essays on the following subject matter:

  • Rights & Enlightenment of Children in areas of Health/Welfare, Education, Environment, Science, Book Culture, Good Governance, etc

*Other categories such as Poetry, Short Stories, Book review, Jokes & Puzzles that are child-related towards improving the welfare & happiness of African Children.

In 1991, the then OAU, now African Union ,AU, instituted the Day of the African Child in memory of the 1976 students’ uprising in Soweto, South Africa. The protest was against the poor quality of education the students were getting in schools wherein they demanded to be taught in their own language.

The Celebration of the International Day of the African Child is observed every year on June 16.

The 2019 theme is: Humanitarian Action in Africa: Children Rights First

AWLA is an organisation committed to protecting the Interest and Welfare of the African Child.

Guidelines

Articles should contain a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 1000 words.

Articles should include writers full names, occupation, school, NGO, email address & telephone number.

Please note that Children/Students can also submit articles but they must indicate the full names of their schools & Class.
