Committee of Chairmen and Secretaries of YLF Writes Paul Usoro SAN Regarding ‘Delay’ in Constituting Its National ExCo

September 30, 2019

Dear Sir,

The President Nigerian Bar Association NBA National Secretariat NBA House, Muhammadu Buhari Way, Abuja,  Nigeria.

RE: CONSTITUTION OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF YOUNG LAWYERS’ FORUM

We write on behalf of the Committee of Chairmen and Secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Association- Young Lawyers’ Forum Branches (the “Committee”) with regards to the constitution of the National Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Forum.

It is our belief that the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association ably led by your good self has the intention to ensure that young lawyers are given adequate support and are well integrated into the activities of our “Noble Bar”.

It is based on this premise that we express our surprise that your administration is yet to constitute the National Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Forum as promised several times by your good self including the one made at the Annual Meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association held on the 29th day of August, 2019 in Lagos State as contained in page 5 paragraph 3.1 (i) of your Address.

Sir, apart from the fact that the branches of the Forum are adversely affected by the delay in the constitution of the Committee, the welfare and capacity development for young lawyers in general is equally adversely affected. For instance, the possibility of holding the Annual Young Lawyers’ Forum Summit this year is hanging in the balance due to this.

Consequently, we write to humbly remind you to facilitate the constitution of the National Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Forum. It is our humble request that you hasten the steps that are being taken towards this course in order to rekindle our confidence in your administration.

Thank you in anticipation.

God bless the Nigerian Bar Association.

Yours faithfully,

FOR THE COMMITTEE:
