The Avocats Sans Frontieres (Lawyers Without Borders) paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Aisha Dikko Thursday.
The leader of the delegation, Angela Uwandu, stated that the visit was to intimate the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice about their ongoing SAFE project.
Mrs. Uwandu explained that the SAFE project is aimed at ensuring justice and promoting accountability with focus on three major arrears: torture, arbitrary detention and extra judicial killings. In Kaduna state the SAFE team has commenced series of trainings involving security, media and CSOs.
The Mrs. Dikko assured the team of the Ministry’s support in the implementation process of the SAFE project, while also reiterating the State Government’s resolve in the fight against injustice.
Lawyers Without Borders is a not-for-profit that manages volunteering lawyers from around the world who donate pro bono service to rule of law projects, capacity building and access to justice initiatives.
The goal is to develop and provide legal support to Rule of Law projects and initiatives in the human rights and global capacity building.
