The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Benin Branch, has called on the Edo State Government to properly designate points around the City Centre of Benin City, tagged the Ring Road, before the implementation of the Newly introduced No Parking Zone by the Edo State Government.
In a Statement issued in Benin City on Thursday, 3rd of January, 2019, on behalf of the Branch, by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Douglas Ogbankwa Esq., the Chairman of the Branch, Prince Collins Benson Ogiegbaen, AICMC, called for a proper designation and placement of sign posts in the affected areas to adequately delineate the designated ‘No Parking Zones’ within the Metropolis thereby giving notice of same to Citizens and Visitors alike.
Prince Ogiegbaen further stated that the State Government should implement the new Traffic Management System in a way that will not cause untold hardship to Citizens.
The Chairman called for the streamlining of the Areas involved in the newly introduced No Parking Zone, in order to obviate a scenerio where Citizens will embark on long and unnecessary treks even when they have Cars.
Prince Ogiegbaen called on the Edo State Government to bear in the mind that the purpose of Governance must be Utilitarian,that is, for the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people.
