Frontline Presidential candidate in the upcoming National elections of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has extended felicitations to the member of the Abuja, Gwagwalada, Lafia, Yola, Makurdi, Minna, Ilorin, Maiduguri, and Zaria branches of the NBA on their successful elections and transition of leadership of their various branches of the Bar. His congratulatory statement is reproduced below:
“I wish to heartily congratulate the entire members of Abuja, Gwagwalada, Lafia, Yola, Makurdi, Minna, Ilorin, Maiduguri, and Zaria branches of the NBA for the successful conducts of their respective elections and transition of leadership of their various branches of the Bar.
I also congratulate everyone that contested in those elections, and urge everyone to join hands with the elected officials and other members of the respective branches towards the development of those branches as well as the practice of law in Nigeria as a whole.
I congratulate the newly elected officials, and charge them to live above board, and ensure they run an all-inclusive service to the Bar so that the Bar can work for everyone.
Always remember the sense of comradeship upon which our profession is built and that we remain friends at the Bar regardless of the political affiliations that may have existed in the buildup to the elections.
I look forward to working with you and your team in the larger Bar.
