The president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Paul Usoro, SAN, has reiterated his administration’s drive to foster young lawyers’ advancement by creating quality support system.

With an increasingly expanding legal field, rapidly changing technology, and serious socio-economic challenges, now, more than ever, young lawyers in Nigeria need the support of the NBA to succeed.

As such, in his address to the NBA National Executive Committee on Thursday, the president emphasised his goal to continue to prioritise the issues facing young lawyers

“In the coming days and months, we would pay more than the ordinary attention to issues concerning our young lawyers starting with the constitution of the Council of the Young Lawyers Forum for which NEC had graciously granted me an anticipatory approval during the 06 December 2018 meeting.” Usoro declared.

Mr Usoro stressed that the able presence of the young lawyer in the NBA executive—the Assistant National Publicity Secretary—has helped bring pressing issues to the fore.

“Happily, we have great champions of young lawyers amongst the National Officers one of the leading ones being Akorede Habeeb Lawal, our Assistant Publicity Secretary. He could easily pass as one of the most young-lawyers-centric members of our Team and he bubbles with several ideas and thoughts concerning young lawyers most of which he has shared with me and which we plan to implement in the coming months.” He said.

The NBA leadership pledges to work tirelessly to ensure these noble goals are met and that the Nigerian Bar is protecting and serving its young, as well as the established members.
