
Lecturer in the faculty of law, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Dalhat Idris kajuru has said that strict adherence to the electoral law will provide enabling environment for electorate to cast vote for candidates of their choice with confidence in the electoral process.
The law don stated this in an interview in Kaduna.
Professor Idris kajuru advised the electorate to come out en mass and make good use of their votes in electing patriotic leaders that will enhance the nation’s socio economic and infrastructural development.
He prayed for peaceful, successful conduct of the election and the emergence of trust worthy leaders.
General elections are scheduled to hold in Nigeria on February 25, 2023, to elect the President and Vice President, and members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
The Governorship and state assembly elections will be held on March 11, 2023.
The President of Nigeria is elected by a plurality of the valid vote and over 25% in at least 24 of the 36 states. If no candidate passes this threshold, a run-off will be held between the top candidate and the next candidate to have received a majority of votes in the highest number of states.
