The members of Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP) have hailed Dr Tonye Clinton Jaja as the Faculty of Law of University of the Gambia recognises him as an Associate Professor of Legislative Drafting.
The University of Gambia made this known in a letter addressed to Dr Jaja recognising him as an Associate Professor in a field he bagged his doctorate degree the first Nigerian lawyer to be awarded a Phd in Legislative Drafting by the University of London’s Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) in 2013.
Jaja was also the first Nigerian lawyer to be recognized by the British Library as Editor-In-Chief of the International Journal of Legislative Drafting and Law Reform in the year 2012.
Also the first Nigerian lawyer to be conferred the prestigious Gani Fawehinmi Outstanding Integrity Award in December 2021.
Youngest Nigerian lawyer to be appointed in 2019 by His Excellency, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
First Nigerian lawyer to be invited as Guest Speaker by the East African Law Society.
First Nigerian lawyer to be invited as Speaker at the Global Conference on Parliamentary Studies, University of Public Service, Ludovika, Hungary.
Dr Jaja is one Nigerian that has recorded nothing less than seven firsts in his chosen field of legislative drafting across the globe.
