APGA Leadership Tussle: Supreme Court Clears Coast for Soludo’s Gubernatorial Candidacy

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the judgement of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division delivered on August 10, which had affirmed Chief Victor Oye as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

The Victor Oye’s faction of the APGA conducted the primary that produced Prof Charles Soludo, as it’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming November 6, election in Anambra state.

In a judgment of a five-man panel of justices of the court, the appeal filed by one Jude Okeke was dismissed on the ground of being an abuse of court process.

Justice Mary Peter Odili upheld the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division, which had earlier dismissed Okeke’s suit.

Justice Odili, who delivered the lead judgment, awarded a sum of N1 million to be paid by Jude Okeke to APGA and Victor Oye.
