Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila,

A bill seeking to establish the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Lagos State has scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.

This followed the presentation of the general principles of the bill by the sponsor Rep. Ganiyu Johnson at plenary.

Presenting the bill, Johnson said that it was aimed at facilitating the development of skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, and related fields in Nigeria.

According to him, establishing an institute of entrepreneurship is the next thing in Nigeria.

He explained that the bill will help to combat unemployment in Nigeria by training students to use their hands to create jobs for themselves.

Thus, the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila ruled in favour of the bill without debate and referred it to the relevant committee for further legislative input.

The institute, when it comes alive, will be situated at Okota, Isolo, Lagos State.
