Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN Delivers a First of Its Kind Lecture at the NBA-YLF Port Harcourt Branch Annual Summit

In his usual phenomenal manner, Chief Joe Kyari Gadzama SAN, as the Keynote speaker in the NBA Port Harcourt Annual Summit held at the prestigious NBA House, delivered a first of its kind lecture in a fully packed hall of young and bright minded lawyers who came in their large numbers to hear the man they all known and revere – J-K Gadzama.

The theme of the summit, titled “The New Age: Governance, Technology and Law”, was an obvious subject of great interest to the audience as they listened with rapt attention to the learned Silk who as expected demystified what many had thought was a very challenging topic.

The lecture organised by a team of astute young wigs of the NBA Port Harcourt branch, could not have come at a better time in the history of the Nigerian legal profession with the attendant challenges of modern day service delivery in law practice occasioned by the digitization of legal industry globally in line with international best practices.

Chief J-K Gadzama, SAN started his lecture by admonishing the young audience to embrace the positive impact of science and technology in legal practice. He highlighted that although our country is faced with the challenges of transitioning from the manualized, analogous and obsolete ways of doing things in the legal industry to a digitized legal practice realized by investment in science and technology development, the future is bright for the Nigerian legal system with our lawyers totally embracing what he termed “legal technology” to solve a wide evolving arrays of legal problems occasioned by the concept of globalization.

Chief J-K Gadzama, SAN challenged the young audience who he proudly referred to as the future of the Nigerian legal profession, to brace up to the modern trends across the world as they venture into their desired career in the Nigerian legal industry. He hinted that the industry has a vast opportunity in the legal service market and the legal talent market. He admonished the young lawyers and law students to embrace science and technology as legal practice as we know it has become very evolutionary, and the young wigs must strive to catch up with the evolving trends so as not to be left out.
