Christmas and New Year Message of Hope from DAB

Respected Learned Silks, Seniors and Colleagues,

The outgoing year 2021 has been a very fulfilling one, though not bereft of its numerous challenges, especially flowing from the disdains of the Covid-19 pandemic to the Jusun Strike amongst others. The most important lesson we should take from these challenges is that, the NBA, the Judiciary and in fact the entire society should embrace in totality the use of technology to run their affairs for efficiency and productivity.

In all, we thank God for the successes recorded in the outgoing year as an Association ranging from the successful 2021 Annual General Conference held at Port-harcourt the Rivers State Capital, to the very numerous outstanding strides recorded at all the Branches of the Association.

We bring to mind all our fallen heroes who dropped in the course of the year and ask God almighty to grant them all eternal rest.

We also thank God for the leadership of our dear Association doggedly led by our dear proactive President, Mr. Olumide Akpata for bringing the Bar closer to lawyers across the country, in terms of rendering services and protecting/promoting the interest of the Association and the Rule of Law in Nigeria (Akpata Cares).

I am very ready to team up with relevant stakeholders and committed barmen to sustain the legacies of the present and past administrations of our Association in very many capacities in the coming days, months and years ahead and I urge our dear members to keep believing in the capacity, vibrancy and potency of our dear Association through her numerous organs, to provide and drive the needed leadership and change still in want in our society.

I wish you all a very fruitful and colourful end of the year celebrations especially the Christmas and new year festivities and I ask you all to drive safely during this season and at all times.

Merry Christmas and a very prosperous new year ahead.

Dhikrullah Adewale Balogun (DAB),
Vice Chairman, NBA Ilorin Branch.
