RE: CONSTITUTIION OF THE NATIONAL YOUNG LAWYERS’ FORUM OF THE NIGERIAN BAR
ASSOCIATION
The Committee of Chairmen and Secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Forum
Branches (the “Committee”) hereby uses this medium to congratulate the newly appointed members
of the Executive and Governing Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Forum and
also to appreciate the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Paul Usoro . SAN, for hearkening to
the demand of young lawyers as pursued by the Committee by constituting the National Young
Lawyers’ Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA-YLF).
Firstly, the Committee must confess that this constitution of the Executive and Governing Council of
the Nigerian Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Forum has reawakened the faith of many young lawyers
in the current leadership of the Bar. This singular gesture has rekindled our belief that the National
Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association ably led the President, Mr. Paul Usoro SAN has
the intention to ensure young lawyers are given adequate support and are well integrated into the
activities of the Bar. Consequently, we wish to appreciate the President and his team for acceding to
our demand and making the appointments.
Also importantly, we wish to congratulate the newly appointed members of National Executive and
Governing Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Forum.
We are very positive that the Council will pursue capacity development and mentorship programs for young lawyers while also ensuring transparency in the administration of the Forum. It is also our desire and hope that the
Council would take steps towards ensuring that a more adequate structure is built for perpetual succession and avoidance of any form of vacuum in the leadership of NBA-YLF.
It is our prayer that almighty God will grant newly appointed members the needed wisdom and strength to undertake the numerous tasks ahead of them.
