I align myself with millions of Nigerians especially members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, International Bar Association, Nigerian Body of Benchers, Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), indigenes and residents of Ekiti State to heartily congratulate our leader, mentor, bar man per excellence, promoter of rule of law and an erudite Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, OFR, on the special occasion of your 70th Birthday celebration.
Learned Silk Sir, you have indeed contributed in no small measure to the practice of law, humanity and in fact the course of justice. Posterity will also remember you Sir for these enormous contributions to humanity and this is evident in the various leadership positions wherein you have held sway and displayed your leadership quality in by no small means.
Apart from being a past NBA President, you were one time the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to the Ondo State Government; former Vice President of the Pan African Lawyers Union; former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University of Ibadan and other notable positions time would not permit me to list out herein.
Sir, you are a colossus and an inspiration to so many Nigerians home and abroad. Your professional life as a lawyer has inspired and continues to inspire as well as enrich the nation’s legal jurisprudence.
As a bar man, you have contributed immensely to the development of members of our noble profession and particularly the Ilorin Branch of the NBA, especially with the provision of car gifts to members of the Branch in 2011 and 2020, respectively, which is highly appreciated by members of the Branch and remains a point of reference till date.
As the Welfare Secretary of the NBA Ilorin Branch when you gave the second car gifts to young lawyers to ease their practice of law, I can boldly say that the effort you put into uplifting the status of members of the Ilorin Branch will be remembered for years to come and the record is indelible in our hearts.
On behalf of myself, my family, and Nigerian youths which I represent, I congratulate you and wish you many more fruitful years on earth sir.
