Eastern Bar Forum Congratulates Rivers State Government on the Approval of Law School Rivers State Campus


The Eastern Bar Forum, a Forum of all the lawyers in the old Eastern Region of Nigeria comprising the states of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers has congratulated the Government of Rivers State on the approval granted by the Council of Legal Education to site a Campus of the Nigeria Law School in Rivers State.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Forum, S. Long Williams, the Forum thanked the Governor of Rivers State Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, C.O.N. G.S.S.R.S. P.O.S Africa, MQP for the great and untiring efforts he has invested in the development of the Legal Profession in Nigeria.

The Forum further congratulated and thanked the Governor for the giant infrastructural and social developmental strides taking place in Rivers State including the acceptance of the Rivers State Government to host the 2021 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association slated to hold between 23rd to 29th October, 2021 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Forum assures the Governor of the necessary support and encouragement towards the hosting of the successful conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Last Thursday, Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had received a formal letter of approval from the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, for the establishment of a Nigerian Law School Campus in Port Harcourt.

The letter was presented to Governor Wike by the Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
