
The Nigerian litigation system has seen the rise of many talented professionals with incredible pedigrees; but among these greats are some who have been outstanding and have reached the hallmark of their professional careers. It goes without saying that such persons are worthy of every accolade they get. No doubt, Chief Olufolake Solanke, SAN, CON is one of such.
In an extension of his goodwill and friendship to the renowned first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Olufolake Solanke, SAN, CON, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN paid a visit to the veteran Learned Silk.
Gadzama, SAN, noted that it was a rare privilege to have visited the matriarch and tapped from her enriching experiences and insights. He described Folake Solanke, SAN, CON, as an icon even among Learned Silks – one who inspires many within and outside the legal profession.
He, Gadzama, SAN continued that her infallible strides in politics and law are beyond excellence and her growth trajectory is perfect proof that it is possible to grow through the echelons in career, politics and social status as an African woman.
Furthermore, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN remarked that, Chief Folake Solanke, SAN should no longer be referred to as the Matriarch of the Bar but ‘Grand Matriarch’ of the Bar. He appreciated her once more for honouring the invitation to be the guest lecturer at the 10th J-K Gadzama LLP Public Lecture Series in 2017 where she did justice to the topic; Whistle Blowing Policy: People’s Power and Corruption in Nigeria.
The visit ended with the presentation of Chief Folake Solanke’s book titled, “Reaching For the Stars” – an autobiography of the legal matriarch to Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN.
There’s no doubt that Chief Olufolake Solanke, SAN, CON has reached for the stars and even surpassed their heights.
