The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the killing of five men by in the early hours of Sunday after the general elections in the state.

TheLoyal Nigerian Lawyer gathered that victims were members of the ruling All Progressives Party, APC, who were returning from Karim Lamido area after election monitoring exercise.

One of the victims, Mr Isah Muhammed Kambari was until his death the Personal Assistant to Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi, APC Gubernatorial Aspirant.

Efforts to identify the four other victims has not been successful.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, David Misal, made the confirmation while speaking to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital.

Misal said the victims were returning from Umari to Cambri villages in Karim Lamido Local Government Area when they were ambushed at about 3:00 a.m. by yet-to-be-identified criminals and shot dead — in cold blood.
