Funmi Adeogun, Candidate for NBA National Treasurer Congratulates NBA Barnawa Branch on their Successful Law Week, Hails Abdullahi Yahya, SAN and V.A.B. Ewuzie, Esq.

Candidate for National Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Funmi Adeogun has sent her congratulations to to the Nigerian Bar Association, Barnawa Branch on their just concluded annual Law Week and smooth change of administration.

“It gives me great joy to extend my felicitations to the Nigerian Bar Association, Barnawa Branch(The Model Branch) on their recently held 2022 Law Week.

“The theme of the Law Week “Understanding the Electoral Act, 2022, is quite apt considering the enormous debate that the passage of the Act has evoked in the nation’s polity.

The goal of an efficient electoral system is meant to be achieved by promoting peaceful and inclusive participation for Nigeria’s sustainable development and building effective, accountable government at all levels.

“I commend these designated occasion by the Model Branch to mark the NBA’s commitment to the rule of law. It is an opportunity for the bar to provide education activities on how law and the legal process contribute to the freedoms that we have as Nigerians. The law week has also increased awareness on the role of lawyers in a democracy.

“Similarly, I extend my congratulations to the immediate past Chairman of the Branch, Abdullahi Yahya, SAN and the new Chairman, V.A.B. Ewuzie, Esq. on a successful change of baton. I strongly believe that there will be consolidation as well as infusion of new ideas in the running of the Branch.

“In furtherance of their obligation to protect and serve the public, the NBA Barnawa through its brilliant activities have effectively shown that they can promote the public good in relation to a just and fair society, and maintain the highest standards of excellence among lawyers in Nigeria
