Goodwill Message from Daniel Kip, Esq to NBA Lagos Branch on Her 2022 Law Week

I felicitate with the Chairman, Executives, and Members of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on the auspicious occasion of your Annual Bar Week scheduled from the 18th – 25th of March 2022 with the theme “Democracy and Legal Order: Shaping the Future”.

Your selected theme in a cloudy democratic regime presently in Nigeria, especially with the coming Presidential and Gubernatorial elections is timely and forward-looking. With over 20 years of being a democracy, it is still instructive to be certain we are upholding the values of democracy in line with the rule of law. As custodians of the rule of law and legal order, it is trite that we brace ourselves to pursue the interest of justice and legal order in the coming season.

I believe that this Bar week will inspire and motivate an alignment and redirection on the path of sustaining democracy and its principles, while upholding the ideologies and processes for a progressive Bar, both as a Branch and in the larger National Body of the NBA.

The Lagos Branch has always been at the forefront of innovations in the Bar. I therefore identify with the laudable objectives of your Bar week and wish you all a successful and impactful outing.
