Gov Ambode, Chief Judge of Lagos and Others Walk Against Sexual And Gender Based Violence

Lagos State demonstrates political will to fight Sexual and gender based violence in a Symbolic Walk led by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, his deputy Idiat Adebule, the ChiefJudge of the state Opeyemi Oke and ranks of the Police at Alausa, Ikeja

 

In his speech, Mr Ambode emphasised that the series of timely and profound interventions by the state government have provided a solid platform for waging war against Sexual & gender based Violence

 

He proposed a 25year jail term for convicted rapists given the enormous physical, emotional and psychological trauma victims of this ignominious crime suffer 

 

Hon. Justice Opeyemi Oke, in her speech at the event, echoed Ambode’s position

 

Her Lordship promises to ensure speedy dispensation of justice for all victims of sexual and gender violence in the state
