…Insists that debunking his “fake certificate” on national television is not enough
The COALITION FOR RECLAIMING EDEOGA’S MANDATE (CREM) has described the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Y.D. Ahmed as an incorruptible servant of the Nation who deserves the credits for weaning the Corps before the world of the allegation that Mr. Mbah has pocketed the powerful personnel of the agency with ” Ego Ndi Enugu”.
The DG’s action sends a strong message of hope to the good people of Enugu and Nigerians at large who have lost confidence in government Institutions, particularly INEC under the watch of Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu. Brig-gen. Ahmed’s actions shows that Nigerians can still find incorruptible people in government institutions who cannot be influenced by money or political intimidation.
The group however urges the DG not to stop at the disclaimer on the national television but permanently put to rest the controversy surrounding Mr Peter Mbah’s fraudulent NYSC certificate by ensuring that NYSC makes itself available as witness at the ongoing tribunal to serve as deterrent to would be offenders. Failure to do so would amount to trying to kill a snake without cutting its head.
The group also urges the DG to immediately petition Mr. Peter Mbah to the appropriate security agency for his immediate arrest and prosecution for allegedly tampering with its prized document. Such petition should be extended to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) for the requisite punitive actions. This will go a long way to serve as a deterrent to others.
