The news of the death of Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir was particularly shocking to me because I can still vividly recall my last conversation with him barely two weeks ago.
I am deeply saddened by his sudden and unexpected demise albeit I must not fail to express my gratitude to the Almighty God for his life here on earth and the impact he had on the legal profession.
Alhaji Abdulkadir, who was a Life Bencher, was indeed a serial achiever with an enviable repertoire of remarkable distinctions to his name.
In the course of his distinguished career at the Bar and in Public Service, he has served as the Attorney-General of Sokoto State and was a one-time Federal Minister for Youth Development. At the time of his death, he was the Pro-Chancellor of Sokoto State University.
Alhaji Abdulkadir who was the Secretary of the Sokoto Sultanate Council, during the reign of Sultan Muhammad Maccido, held the the traditional title of Magatakarda (Chief Scribe) of the Sokoto Caliphate.
His life, which was indeed filled with many great achievements, also positively impacted those around him and he will be sorely missed by all of us, who are his colleagues in the legal profession especially the Sokoto Bar of which he was, until the time of his death, a leading light.
As he makes his way to the bosom of the Almighty God, I pray that he shall have eternal rest and peace.
My deepest sympathies are with everyone affected by his passing: his family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers. May the Almighty give all those who mourn the fortitude to bear the loss occasioned by his death.
With sincere sympathy,
