Int’l Women’s Day 2022: the ‘J-K Gadzama LLP Women’s Group’ Appreciates Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN for His Continuing Support and Dedication Towards the Development of Women in the Firm


In celebration of the International Women’s Day, 2022 tagged #breakthebias, the Women’s Group of J-K Gadzama LLP, took the opportunity to celebrate one of their own, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, for his relentless efforts and contribution to the development, training and support of women in the firm and the Bar at large. The ‘group’ praised the learned silk for his unwavering support over the years and his dedication in ensuring that the firm provides an environment where the development and career progression of women are guaranteed.

The Chairperson of the Group, Ms. Rashidat Banke Obamojure while appreciating the learned silk on behalf of the Women’s Group of the firm, noted that diversity, inclusivity and equality are principles that guide the firm in its mission to support empowerment of women. She further stated that over the years the firm has produced many successful WOMEN, by encouraging FEMALE LEADERSHIP, which is evident in the leadership structure of the firm. Over the years the firm has been led by capable and dedicated women, one of which was Mrs. Geraldine Mbah the Firm’s Managing Partner, who was at the helm of affairs at the Firm and is now on study leave to further her education in Canada.

Also, the Arbitration Center, Janada International Center for Arbitration and Mediation (JICAM) named after the learned silk’s late wife is further testament to the drive, vision, and mission of Chief J-K Gadzama, SAN in empowering and providing support to women in their careers. Worthy of note is that the Janada International Center for Arbitration and Mediation (JICAM) for many years was also managed by a very capable and equally dedicated woman, Ms. Stephanie Tobi, who has since left the center to lead an illustrious career Netherlands and Mrs. Chimdindu Etuwewe.

The J-K GADZAMA LLP WOMEN’S group, a group envisioned by chief J-K Gadzama, SAN to drive women leadership, mentorship, empowerment, gender positivity and break all the biases on all fronts boasts of over 25 members who are indeed grateful for the opportunity to be mentored by a great visionary and supporter of women’s rights.
