The Intellectual Property Institute of Nigeria has announced the induction of Fellows into the Institute which will hold on the 2nd of December 2021 in FCT, Abuja.
The ceremony will take place at the National Merit Awards House, Maitama and will see professionals from all walks of life who have contributions to the growth and development of intellectual property in Nigeria conferred with the rank of Fellow.
Mr. Femi Sedemogun, Head of Administration of the institute while speaking about the induction said it is imperative to recognise the men and women who are working tirelessly in an area that is still largely underutilised in Nigeria. This is because IP is the springboard for innovation and if not carefully harnessed, will see to the decline of investors in the innovative space.
“Intellectual Property is the oil of the 21st century and it takes good effort to cultivate it which is why these distinguished men and women are being recognised for the tremendous strides they have made in their various fields.
The full list of fellows include; Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, Chief Judge, Federal High Court, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN, Ezenwa Anumnu Esq, Nureini Jimoh, SAN, Calixthus Okoruwa, CEO XLR8 LTD, Barr. Anne Trademarks Registrar and Barr. Stella Ezenduka Registrar Patents and Designs.
Along with this induction, the Institute will be the presenting Innovation awards to Nigerian Creators. The Intellectual Property Institute Nigeria is responsible for the promotion of IP innovation, research and advocacy in Nigeria.
