  1. This indeed should be commended. It is a step ahead of where we used to be and this indeed is a loud shift from the incoherent status quo.

  2. Alihamdulilahi for the newly development about Registry because many Muslim couple fall into issue of Registry using Christianity method. I am happy for it. Masha Allah

  3. Ma’shaallah. This is a very good development, may Allah accept it and reward us all. For those with more than one wife, will there be different certificates for each wife?

  4. Assalamualaikum Warahamatullahi Wabarakaatuh. Please me and my hubby wish to have this in shaa Allah for our nikka coming up ending of January 2021, please need your assistance on the steps to get in touch with the person doing that in the financial constraints.

  5. Mine is a question actually. Can one apply for the marriage certificate even if the marriage didn’t take place in the FCT and it’s some years back?

    1. The Sharia Court of Appeal FCT is a state court, therefore it cannot assume jurisdiction on matters beyond its territorial jurisdiction. This is to say FCT marriage registry can only issue certificates to marriages conducted within the FCT-Abuja.

  6. Honourable Grand Kadi sir.
Thanks immensely for approved this important legal document for muslims.
Please sir, kindly see to how every state or any state with shari’ah court can practise issueing of this certificate. Let it be available for new couples and those that had married long.
    Thanks.

  7. Salamu alaikum, for married couples who are married 15 years ago, can they all apply for the marriage certificate?

    1. Yes. Conducting the marriage according to Islamic law is one thing while the issuance of the Islamic certificate of marriage is another thing.

So, the certificate is only a confirmation of the marriage already conducted.

  8. Alhamdullilah ,sir please let it be through out the state and what about those who have married for long time can we have it thanks from osun state
