Following the promise made by J-K Gadzama, SAN at the Eastern Bar Forum quarterly meeting on the 24th July, 2021, regarding the Emmanuel Orji case, Chief Gadzama, SAN arrived at The Awka Correctional Center, Anambra State, in company of NBA Chairman Awka Branch, Mr. Ken Nwanna and Mr. C.I. Meze (counsel) who had in-depth knowledge of the case for a further investigation of the alleged inmate who has been in the prison for 15years without a proper trial.
Joe-Kayri Gadzama, SAN was welcomed by the Welfare officer Awka Correctional Center, Mrs. Maria Kwazu, who ushered the legal team into the office of the Deputy Controller of Corrections and Welfare, Mr Harry Okonkwo.
After a brief meeting with officers and members of the Awka Correctional facility on the case, the J-K Gadzama team thanked the Officers of the Correctional facility and then took their leave.
A report is being prepared by J-K Gadzama, SAN to be submitted to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Eastern Bar Forum, and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe on Monday, 9th August, 2021. The report will be made public.
