Lagos State Approves Recruitment Of 2,200 Teachers For Primary, Secondary Schools

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule: Improved facilities and staff motivation is evident in the high performance rate of our students

The Lagos State government has approved the recruitment of an additional 1,200 teachers for the primary and Secondary schools in the State.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had at the last quarterly Town Hall meeting held at Ibeju Lekki, — promised that his administration would employ more teachers into public schools to meet up with the manpower required in the state-owned schools.

Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Idiat Adebule, confirmed that the 1200 teachers to be employed was an addition to the 1,000 teachers which the Governor recently approved for recruitment into Primary Schools.

Mrs Adebule, who superintends over the Ministry of Education, said guidelines for application would be released soon in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.

According to Adebule, the new development will aid teaching and learning in the public schools— as evident in more enrollment in the last three years — a result of the improved infrastructure and welfare of teaching and non-teaching staff.

“Improved facilities and staff motivation was evident in the high performance rate of our students in local and international competitions.” She stressed.
