Law Society of Lesotho Engages Nigerian Law Society (NLS) in Drafting Amendment to the Legal Practitioners Act of Lesotho

The President of the Law Society of Lesotho, Advocate Linkle Tuke has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Law Society (NLS) represented by Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja. The MoU was signed today in the capital city Maseru, Lesotho.

As part of efforts to commence immediate implementation of the said MoU, today, the President of the Law Society of Lesotho has just signed an MoU for collaboration with the Nigerian Law Society (NLS), by virtue of this MoU NLS will oversee the continuing legal education programmes of the Lesotho Law Society and are currently helping to draft amendments to their Legal Practitioners Act which makes NLS a member of the Selection Committee for conferment of the rank of King’s Counsel (equivalent of SAN) on lawyers from Lesotho.

The Law Society of Lesotho society “is desirous of improving its services, providing demand driven services to its members and its other stakeholders, improving subscription payment and collection and empowering and training its members so they get to and remain on the cutting edge of the profession.”
