The leadership and members of the Midwest Bar Forum under the Chairmanship of Prof. N.A. Inegbedion, PhD heartily congratulates the President-elect Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN and other successful candidates at the just concluded NBA national officers elections.
The Forum profoundly expresses its satisfaction with the seamless electoral process under the auspices of the ECNBA which led to the emergence of Y.C. Maikyau SAN as the President-Elect. In the just concluded NBA National Officers Elections, the voters education and mobilization voter education was unprecedented and it significantly contributed to the high voter turnout. The election itself was stress free while the e-voting platform deployed for voting was user-friendly. This is worthy of emulation by other election management bodies and provides a pathway for the consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.
The Forum seizes this opportunity to extend its hand of fellowship to its disgruntled members who unsuccessfully openly worked against the victory of Y.C. Maikyau contrary to the Forum’s position to reconsider their stance and close ranks with the extant leadership for a stronger Midwest Bar Forum.
The Forum calls upon the newly elected Executive to work assiduously and selflessly towards consolidating and improving on the success of the Olu Akpata administration particularly as it concerns the welfare of the members of the Association.
