Moruff O. Balogun, Esq. Commends Ogun State Chief Judge over Creation of Small Claims Courts in the State

The convener of the Lawyer’s Diary and Ogun state based legal practitioner Mr. Moruff O. Balogun, Esq. has commended the Chief Judge of Ogun state Hon. Justice Mosunmola A. Dipeolu FICMC for the creation of small claims courts in the state.

The Ogun state Chief Judge according to Mr. Balogun is undoubtedly loaded with modern ideas and initiatives which would definitely make Ogun State Judiciary one of the best in the country in terms of efficient and effective justice dispensation.

Also,the creation of separate registry to cater for the courts in order to fast track justice dispensation is quite marvelous and noble.

The small claims courts would entertain claims for liquidated money demand or damages which must not exceed N500,000:00 ( excluding interest and cost ).
Mr. Balogun further commended the Ogun CJ for carefully chosen magisterial districts such as Abeokuta ,Ijebu Ode,Sagamu etc for the operations of the small claims courts.

Mr. Balogun equally urged the magistrates who had been carefully selected to man the small claims courts to display professionalism and shun all forms of distractions.

The creation of the small claims courts according to Balogun would go a long way in bringing justice to the grassroots without much stress, and cases would definitely be treated with despatch to cater for the population and growing business activities in Ogun state.
