The Muslim Lawyers Association, Borno State Chapter has inaugurated new officials to steer its affairs for the next two-year tenure.
Following unveiling the names of the New Executives by the Vice Chairman; Shura Committee, Hon. Justice Haruna Mshelia of Borno State High Court; the inauguration into the various offices of was held at the Branch’s General Meeting dated 11th April, 2021.
According to the report, Dr. Tijjani M. Buba emerged as the Ameer, Abdullahi Usman and Zakariya Gabchiya returned as the Deputy Ameer I and II respectively, while Zakariya Muhammad Umar was announced as Secretary General to be Assisted by Makkah A. Sanda.
Other Executive Officers include: M. M. Abdullahi – Financial Secretary, Sa’adatu Umar – Treasurer and Babagana Ali as Welfare Secretary.
While Y. Ishaq and Ahmad Muhammad were returned as the Publicity Secretaries I and II.
The Inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Kamal Dawud; MULAN Past President, Kadi Ahmad Abba Muhammad of Shari’a Court of Appeal, Borno State, Dr. Abdulrashid L. Haruna of Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri, Past Ameers of the Branch among other dignitaries.
MULAN, the umbrella body of Nigeria lawyers of the Islamic faith, seeks to promote the cause of Islam and the interest of Muslims in Nigeria through the legal profession. The group also offers free legal services — for the attainment of social justice in the nation — to Muslims and for the good of humanity in general.
