
The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, MULAN, Osun State Branch has inaugurated its new Executive Members to run the affairs of the body for two years.
Qaasim Odedeji emerged as the new Chairman with Alhajji Banji Adetona as the Vice Chairman and Idrees Abiodun Mikaheel as secretary of the association.
Other members of the Exco include Mr Lukman Adeniji as the Assistant Secretary, Alhaji Dawood Ajetunmobi as Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Mustapha as Treasurer, Alhaja Selimot Folake Gimba as Financial Secretary and Mrs Fatimah Idowu Olatunji-Adeyanju as Welfare Secretary.

While administering oath of office on the new executive members, Magistrate Badmus charged them to see their new positions as trust and should let the fear of Allah be their guiding principles in their actions and inactions while discharging their responsibilities.
He also admonished the new officers of the association to hit the ground running and come up with activities that will not only be beneficial to their members but also the society at large.
The Chairman of the Shura (selection) Committee, Alhaji G.A. Lawal disclosed that the committee was painstaking in selection of the crop of personalities that are selected for the various offices.
He advised the new Exco to be up and doing in their responsibilities so as to justify the trust reposed in them.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Barrister Qaasim Odedeji promised to direct the affairs of the association with fear of Allah.
He however sought for the support of all the members of the association in order for the Exco to paddle the canoe of the association to the shore of success.
According to him, “I want to say as Abubakr said when he was chosen as the Khalifah of the Prophet that I’m made a leader upon you but I am not the best of you. When ever I am right, assist me and when I am wrong, strengthen me. And you can do that with your beautiful advice.”
“Know that we cannot do it alone. It is a joint responsibility. I promise on behalf of other executive that we shall run an open door policy where every member will have a role to play and I believe we will all play our roles and work hard to bring MULAN Osun State to enviable position”. Odedeji said
