
The Eti-Osa Bar Forum (formerly the Lekki/Lekki-Eti-Osa/Ajah-BADORE Forum) cordially invites her esteemed members and lawyers within jurisdiction to the commissioning of th Christopher Olatunde Segun Courthouse , Eti-Osa by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu on Tuesday, 17th December, 2019.
The commissioning of the Building is the Pinnacle of the relentless agitation of the Eti-Osa Bar Forum right from her days as Lekki Forum for the completion of the High and Magistrate Court Building.
According to the Official Invitation Card, the Commissioning Ceremony will start by 1pm while guests are to be seated by 12: 30pm.
A Reconfiguration to Tandem
The Nigerian Bar Association, Ajah-BADORE Forum , arising from an Emergency Executive Committee Meeting held on 13th December, 2019 had resolved to reconfigure itself as the Eti-Osa Bar Forum.
This is pursuant to the renaming of the new Division for the new High and Magistrate Court Building as Christopher Olatunde Segun Court House, Eti-Osa Division of the High Court of Lagos State.
The resolution is also in compliance with the report delivered by Mr Abimbola, Chairman NBA Epe during the branch meeting held on 12th December, 2019 on the his sponsored motion though not listed but orally raised on the floor of the NEC on the proposed position, but yet to be released communique of the National Executive Committee that for the purposes of Branch accreditation, NBA logo and name should not be used by Fora seeking Branch accreditation.
In a press release issued by Oladotun Hassan, Chairman and Ayo Ademiluyi, Secretary of the newly unveiled Eti-Osa Bar Forum, the Forum has prioritised flexibility in meeting the requirements for the emergence of a Branch within the jurisdiction of the High and Magistrate Court Building. Since the submission of its Application to the February 2019 NEC, the Forum has received supportive letter of recommendation from Ikorodu , Badagry Branches and it has applied for same from Epe, Ikeja and Lagos Branches, in view of the fact that members of the forum belongs to various existing branches in Lagos.
The meeting also received the report of the visit to the Office of the Chief Registrar of High Court of Lagos State upon Invitation by The Chief Registrar on Thursday, 12th December, 2019.
The meeting assured the readiness of the Forum to work with the Chief Judge of Lagos State and Chief Registrar of the High Court of Lagos State.
