NBA Enugu Branch Elects New Executive Committee Members

A fresh era: The newly elected Chairman of the NBA Enugu Branch, C.N.N. Nwagbara, Esq

The members of Nigerian Bar Association, Enugu Branch has successfully elected new members of the executive committee on Friday, 17th June 2022, at the Justice Umezulike Hall, Enugu State High Court Complex.

Enugu Bar also known as the “Secundus nullus” had a peaceful and successful election today which brought forth C.N.N Nwagbara, Esq. who is popularly known as ‘God’s time is the best’ as the Enugu Bar (Enbar) Chairman-Elect.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, Chief V.C Odoh and Elder David Ngwee immediately congratulated their opponents who they contested against and gave them their unalloyed assurance of their support.
In the words of V.C. Odoh,Esq as cited in the Enbar Chat, he said:

“May I on behalf of my supporters congratulate those who won the ENBAR elections. I also pledge my cooperation with the new EXCO in all legitimate things. I thank my supporters for their efforts and sacrifices. We remain committed to noble ideals and integrity for the good of ENBAR.”~ V.C. Odoh.

While Elder Dave Ngwee also physically congratulated his opponent and later sent him congratulatory words, listen to him:-

“Congratulations to Gozie Iwuala, the Secretary elect of NBA Enugu, God will see you through as you take over the Enbar Secretariat. You have my support in any manner you may need it, all through your administration and to all my supporters, let’s join the winners to celebrate the Enbar victory and give them our support for a better and united Enbar.
Thanks to all of us, victory belongs to God Almighty.”

Surprisingly, two candidates (Amaka Oforma & Jovita Ibekwe) who were previously disqualified by the Electoral Committee but were restored back by the Enbar Appeal Electoral Committee emerged winners and defeated their opponents with large margins.

According to the Electoral Committee led by the Chairman, Mr. Ifeanyi Udenze, the results were:-

a) Chairman:

  1. CNN Nwagbara …. 167
  2. V.C. Odo …………… 84

b) Vice Chairman: 233 valid votes: Tina Onah (Unopposed).

c) Treasurer

V.N. Asogwa………. 118

d) Welfare Secretary :
Onyefuru Beatrice.. 109
Ibekwe Jovita … 140

e) Assistant Secretary:
Ukamaka Ofoma157

Joe Best Onyiabor, a known Wordsmith in Enugu State was declared the unopposed winner for the post of Publicity Secretary with 236 valid votes.

Chielozonam Onyianta, Esq who is currently the Chairman of Enugu Bar Young Lawyers Forum (YLF) also emerged unopposed for the post of Social Secretary with 243 valid votes.

Lawyers practicing in Enugu State believe that this election was the most contested since the inception of this branch as each of the Contestants is believed to have large followership.
