The Nigerian Bar Association Gombe Branch has strongly condemned the abduction and killing of two wives and five children of one of its founding pillars and 2nd Pioneer Branch Chairman, His Royal Highness Honorable Justice Sani Mohammed (Rtd.) Chief of Mutum Biyu Chiefdom of Taraba State.
It is with great shock that the Branch received the news that went viral online that eight family members of His Royal Highness were kidnapped by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately, only 14 years old boy among them managed to escape and returned back home with serious wounds of gun shots on his body while the bodies of the two abducted wives and remaining five children of His Royal Highness were found dead.
The Jewel Bar condemns the brutal killing of the deceased persons and calls on the Inspector General of Police to direct a special investigation into this inhuman acts to unravel the true perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them all to book.
In addition, the Jewel Bar appeals to NBA National leadership under the dedicated and committed President Y.C. Maikyau, SAN to set up a very strong committee in collaborations with Jalingo and Yola Branches of the Bar to follow up the case and ensure that justice is done to the family of His Lordship Mohammed Sani and all culprits are brought under the full wrath of the law.
The Jewel Bar reiterates its full support, solidarity and sympathy with the Chief of Mutum Biyu, His Royal Highness Honorable Justice Sani Mohammed (Rtd.) being him its 2nd pioneer chairman and one of its founding pillars who trained many senior members of the Branch while practicing in Gombe under his popular firm Kachalla Law Office Gombe the likes of I.M.
