NBA Ikeja Branch calls Emergency Meeting to discuss New Lagos State High Court Rules

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ikeja Branch has summoned its members, concerned lawyers, litigants to an emergency meeting to address pertinent issues raised by the soon-to-be-launched Lagos State High Court (Civil procedure) Rules 2019.

The meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday 21st of January, 2019.

The statement signed by the branch’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Charles Ajiboye reads:

The Chairman, of the NBA Ikeja Branch, Prince Dele Oloke, on behalf of the branch received a letter from the office of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, on 17th January, 2019 inviting him and 2 other executives to the launch of the new Lagos State High Court (Civil procedure) rules 2019 proposed to hold on Monday, 21st January, 2019 at the Conference room of the High Court at 2pm.

Members of the branch will recall the many attempts earlier made without success to receive a copy of the proposed rules whilst still in its offing to make contributions as major stakeholders in the judiciary.

It is to this end that the Chairman has directed me to give notice to all members of the NBA Ikeja branch and indeed all concerned lawyers and litigants of an Extraordinary General Meeting(EGM). The agenda shall be to discuss the developments as it pertains to the proposed Lagos State High Court (Civil procedure) rules 2019.

The EGM shall hold at the Bar Secretariat, within the Ikeja High Court Premises at 12noon and a Press Conference will be addressed immediately afterwards accordingly.
