NBA Lagos Branch Pays Courtesy Calls on Federal High Court, National Industrial Court Judges in Bid to Promote Bar/Bench Synergy


The Nigerian Bar Association,NBA, Lagos branch, paid a courtesy call on the Federal High Court, Lagos division on Monday, 21st October, 2019.

Executives of the premier bar were led by the Chairman, Yemi Akangbe.

In his address, Mr. Akangbe, said mutual cooperation between the Bar and Bench will guarantee accessible justice and rule of law while providing conducive working environment for lawyers.

Similarly, the NBA Lagos branch delegation led by its chairman, Mr. Akangbe, visited the Presiding Judge Hon. Justice O. A. Obaseki-Osaghae and other Judges of the National Industrial Court in Ikoyi Wednesday.

The meeting was aimed at fostering the synergy between the bar and the bench, canvassing for better working conditions of lawyers. to introduce the Judiciary Relations Committee of the branch to the Presiding Judge and set off subsequent interactions of the Committee with the Court.

The Chairman also commented on the challenges, administrative issues faced by lawyers, and the bar’s anticipation of an improved relationship with the judiciary.

An informal invitation made to Hon. Justice Obaseki-Osaghae to attend the planned NBA Lagos Branch law dinner was accepted but subject to a formal invitation and availability on that date.

Both visits provided opportunities for the lawyers and judges to discuss issues of mutual benefit with the goal to work toward these common objectives.
