NBA Lagos Elections 2021: James Sonde Submits Manifesto for a Redefined Secretariat

James Sonde, Esq.

As the elections of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA, Lagos Branch draw nearer, the Election Committee sent a letter titled: ‘Notice of Eligibility to Contest for the Post of Secretary’ to James Sonde, it read thus; “You are required to submit not more than four (4) pages of A4-size electronic copy of your Curriculum Vitae, comprehensive manifesto and other campaign materials to the Election Committee’s email…”

In compliance with this directive, James Sonde has submitted his manifesto to the Committee. He noted that the Branch Secretary’s duties are well detailed in the 2015 Uniform Bye-Law for Branches but believes that these functions can be REDEFINED in an innovative, informative, interactive, and better administrative ways with a matured, cool, approachable and calculative person at the helms of affairs of the Secretariat. This, he believes will lift the Secretariat to an advanced level that is at par with international benchmark, with resultant growth and expansion of the Premier Bar.

According to him, the manifesto which will be published by the Election Committee and thereafter be made available to members is in three-dimension. He looks forward to seeing an advanced secretariat, changing from what it is now to a better administrative, interactive, informative and organisational standard where every members’ input is properly coordinated in the quest to move the Branch forward. Thus, Mr. Sonde solicits for your mandate to enable him serve as your secretary — this will give him the opportunity to actualise these noble goals.
