The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Maiduguri branch has reiterated its position to support the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on his unwavering cause at restoring lasting peace to the state.
NBA Maidugguri branch issued this statement during the monthly meeting presided over by the Vice Chairman, B.G.M. Mustapha, held on Friday, 28th day of February،2020, at the Bar centre.
The Congress further pledged to work hand in hand with the state government towards the realisation of the objectives of good governance and protection of rule of law within the state.
This resolution is coming amidst highly conspicuous efforts by Governor Zulum to make security paramount, and his relentless drive in ensuring sustainable peace and tranquility in the state.
Since 2009, Boko Haram insurgency had bedeviled North East state of Nigeria with Borno finding itself at the epicentre. The violence, which poses enormous security, humanitarian and governance challenges has seen a noticeable decline thanks to the gallantry of the Nigerian Army.
