Greetings.
Recall that in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic which has led to the closure of all courts in Nigeria for about a month now, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association constituted a Welfare Committee to afford palliatives for vulnerable members of the Association. In view of the above, I have the mandate of the Chairman of the Welfare Committee to request you to kindly furnish the Committee with the following information:
1.) The full Names and Correct Bank Details of all young lawyers in your branch between 1-7 years post call who have paid their 2020 Bar Practicing Fees and Branch Dues as at 31st March, 2020 and 2.) The full Names and Correct Bank Details of 10 other lawyers of what ever year at the Bar who are also in need of the Welfare Scheme and who have paid their 2020 Bar Practicing Fees and Branch Dues as and when due.
Please note that the aforementioned list must be accompanied with evidence of Payment of the 2020 Bar Practicing Fees and Branch Dues of the said members.
EXCEPTION: Note however that lawyers in any form of Government Employment who earn Salaries from the Government and lawyers who work in the law firms of Senior Advocates of Nigeria are not captured in this Welfare Scheme and as such their details are not to be sent. I shall be grateful if this information reaches me not later than 3pm of the 25th day of April, 2020.
