The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ogbomoso Branch has inaugurated Its newly elected executive committee to direct its affairs for the prescribed two-year period.
The elections were held on 18th June, 2021, and the inauguration ceremony came up on the 2nd July, 2021, at the Bar Centre, High Court of Oyo State Complex, Oke Ado, Ogbomoso.
The membership of the Executive Committee is made up as follows:
Chairman: Sir Segun Oyewo, Esq.
Vice Chair: O.R. Olatunbosun, Esq.
Secretary: Bright O. Egharevba, Esq.
Treasurer: F. A. Bassey, Esq.
In his inauguration speech, the new Chairman said “Our tenure will be more unique and radical, let us be mentally alert, the society needs our impact as lawyers more than ever now, don’t let us disappoint them.”
The development of an strong, independent, and effective legal profession is a bedrock of democracy and human rights, protecting the rule of law and providing a means for citizens to assert their rights.
The new executive committee pledged that the branch will continue to serve as a central point of engagement for lawyers in the jurisdiction who wish to participate in pro bono work; help to educate the public about legal issues, developments in the law and their legal rights; advocating for legal reform; and helping to maintain the integrity of the legal profession in Oyo State and beyond.
