Batons changed hands in the Law Officers Association of Nigerian(LOAN) Akwa Ibom State Chapter on Thursday 5th August,2021 as the outgoing Executive Committee of the body handed over to their newly elected successors in office in a grand inauguration ceremony.
The event which was witnessed by the Hon.Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice,Akwa Ibom State, Uko Essien Udom,SAN, the Solicitor General & Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Christopher J. Udoh, Directors in the Ministry, Law Officers and friends of LOAN took place at the RnR Event Centre Uyo.
Highlights of the inauguration ceremony included presentation of Report of the Electoral Committee and certificates of return by ELECO Chairman, Friday J. Itim, Esq, handing over speech by the outgoing Chairman,Ime Umofiah Esq,inaugural address by the newly elected Chairman of LOAN, Akwa Ibom State, Andrew B. Umoh,Esq following the swearing in of the new leadership by Hon Justice Nkereuwem Obot of the Akwa Ibom State High Court as well as remarks by the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Akwa Ibom State.
The new EXCO which has a three year tenure comprises the the following: Andrew B Umoh,Esq, Chairman; Comfort Udoh, Esq,Vice Chairman; Blessing Udofa, Esq, Secretary;Edo Eshiet,Esq, Treasurer; Mfon Ekanem,Esq, Assistant Secretary; Mfon Asuquo, Esq, Financial Secretary; and Asuquo Nyongessien, Esq, Publicity Secretary.
The inauguration ceremony rounded off with a session of music and merriment.
