Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum, Safiya Balarabe congratulates all the Branches of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria on the election of their new executive committee members.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate the Branches of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, Nigeria on their successful transition to new leaderships.
I wish the new executive committee members success as they take up the responsibilities and challenges of their high offices,” she said.
“FIDA’s mission to promote, protect and preserve the rights of women and children; which includes their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights will always be an evergreen and noble ideal.
“By providing members with an array of resources and events designed to encourage, inspire and support women lawyers, the legal industry has made huge strides to improve female career progression in recent years,” Balarabe said..
She further stated that “There is much to celebrate by members of FIDA with respect to the advances that women have made in the legal profession during the past several decades but there is still work to be done.”
The Associations has played a laudable role in eliminating discrimination in the practice of law and in supporting Nigerian women’s advancement in all positive aspects,” Balarabe said. “We can accomplish so much more together,” Balarabe quipped.
