Voters in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, trooped out in their numbers to the various polling units to cast their votes.
This is notwithstanding the early morning bombing and heavy gunfire that resonated across the city, obviously aimed at intimidating the electorate.
” I cast my vote successfully though Smart card reader of our unit Bulama Kadiri 013 Jere l.G.A of Borno State was slow.” Said one proud voter.
Another voter said; “Despite intimidation by this morning’s incidences [bombing] voters turned out in large numbers in Maiduguri metropolis and Borno State in General.
“This include all local Government Areas across the state.”
According to the source Internally Displaced Persons, IDP’s were not left out as they came out enmass to perform their civic duties without let or hindrance.
