Ifesi Nwodo commends Governor Ugwuanyi over Local Goverment Officers Relocation Directive

The Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Ifesi Nwodo has hailed his boss for directing all the Local Goverment Chairmen, Councillors Development Centre bosses to relocate to their villages (Wards).

Nwodo stated this in his Enugu office during a chat with the press, shortly after Governor Ugwuanyi met with Local Goverment officers at the Enugu State Government lodge.

The Abuja based lawyer commended the Governor whom he described as a leader that leads with example, ” prior to 2015 governorship elections the governor resides in FCT but immediately he became governor he relocated to the state capital where he joined his people to know their needs which he delivered, making them renew his mandate in 2019.” Nwodo said.

Nwodo further said that Gov Ugwuanyi’s instructions today shows his empathy for the rural dwellers as a good leader with conscience.

Similarly, Nwodo advised the above mentioned office holders to obey the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer of the State and relocate to their various villages/Wards or honourably resign to give way to rural dwellers to lead their people accordingly.

Recall that Ugwuanyi had directed all Local Government Area Chairmen and other critical stakeholders in that tier of government to immediately relocate and reside in their councils.

This, the Governor believes, will promote effective local administration and development of the hinterlands.

While stressing that it is only when those who were elected and appointed at the grassroots reside there with those who elected them that government’s programmes will be fully actualised.

The public office holders who were the subject matter of the directive are council chairmen and their deputies; the councilors; supervisors; administrators and members of the development centres, among others.

“We are also poised to review the ‘One Community One Project’ initiative to make it even better”. Governor Ugwuanyi stressed.
