Past Chairman of NBA Benin Branch, Ede Asenoguan Sends Goodwill Message to NBA Lagos Branch on the Occasion of Its 2022 Law Week

Ede Asenoguan, Esq.

The Lagos branch of the NBA (Premier Bar) yesterday, the 18th of March 2022 kick-started its 2022 Law Week with a Jumat service and a subsequent opening cocktail party later in the evening. The week-long event billed to take place between 18th and 25th of March 2022 is tagged “Democracy and the Legal Order: Shaping The Future” shall feature a health walk, football match, thanksgiving service, various plenary sessions, health check, prison visitation, young lawyers career fare and climaxes with a closing party.

Mr Ede Asenoguan who is no stranger to the ever soaring Premier Bar has on account of the loaded Law Week sent in a goodwill message to the bar, wishing them a successful outing while expressing confidence in the expected output from the event. His words are reproduced below:

“The Chairman, Executive and Branch Members of the Lagos branch (Premier Bar),

I am elated to have yet another opportunity to commune with you. Your ongoing Law Week tagged. “Democracy and the Legal Order: Shaping The Future” affords me this latest avenue to send you good wishes as usual.

The theme of this year’s Law Week stands very relevant in the light of the present democratic cum legal uncertainties being faced by the country. It is important that the bar being a vigilant watchdog of the nation’s democracy as it relates to the rule of law, takes out time to rub minds and engage more robustly the political players in this regard.

A program such as this affords us that opportunity to so do and we must all take advantage of same to reengineer our queries for the ruling class, who have taken an oath to uphold the rule of law. It is only when we do this constantly that we can effectively shape the future to answer to the description of a civilised democracy.

Your bar is prominent for choosing some of the best minds in doing justice to relevant themes and attendant topics. This is why I look forward to an educating and enlightening week-long event, and of course not forgetting the other very important activities within the week, all put together to ensure a successful Law Week that achieves the very essence of its theme.

I wish you a successful Law Week ahead, even as I partake in same.

Thank you and God bless”

Signed:
Ede Asenoguan, Esq
