Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum, Safiya Balarabe congratulates the Nigerian Bar Association Women’s Forum (NBAWF) on its recently organised 2022 Conference.
“I express my profound congratulations to the leadership and entire members of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum on the just concluded 2nd Annual Conference in Lagos.
“As the theme of the conference—The invisible Hand of Gender Bias: Championing Collective Change— portrays, all stakeholders must tirelessly expand the pathways to gender equality in the legal profession and beyond.
“The legal profession, as a standard bearer of equality and as an institution committed to the preservation of rights, should be the emblem of gender equality. Responsibility for addressing the problem of gender disparity is something that lies with the entire profession and should be framed as a matter of ethics. I am convinced that the various discussions at the Conference have done justice to the topics, and consequently setting the tone for reforms.

The Forum has the mandate to empower female lawyers, eliminate all forms of gender inequality and promote the rights of women in Nigeria.
From networking in person to online professional development, career advancement and progression events as well as a focus on wellbeing, women in the legal profession enjoy innovative networking opportunities.
“The NBA Women Forum has been relentless in the cause of providing members with an array of resources and events designed to encourage and inspire women lawyers.
“I commend the Forum for supporting the next leaders in Law and encouraging career progression through personal development. I wish the Forum more successful projects in the future. Thank you.
