Senate President Lawan Proposes National Security Summit to Address Current Threats

Senate President Ahmed Lawan believes a security summit to discuss national threats and proffer practical solutions is the best move at the moment

President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan has proposed a national security summit to address the security situation in the country.

Senator Lawan made this proposition as part of his contribution to a motion raised by Senator Ayo Akinyelure on the killing of Mrs Funke Olakurin, daughter of an Afenifere leader.

Senator Lawan believes it’s the duty of the Senate to organise the security summit to proffer lasting solutions to the incessant killings across the country.

The national security landscape is moving faster than ever before, with continuously evolving threats and unforeseen challenges posing security risk to Nigeria

A minute of silence was held for the late Mrs Olakunrin , other Nigerians who have lost their lives in similar circumstances.
