Code for Africa has invited a media law expert President Aigbokhan, Esq to speak on “Journalism in the Nigeria Constitution”. The special online hangout is called Hacks/ Hackers event and slated to hold on 28th day of January 2022

Hacks/hackers Africa is a digital community of people who seek to inspire one another, share information and collectively invent the future of media & journalism. The event which is monthly, principally aims to bridge the gaps between journalists & technologists.

According to the Senior Programme Manager of Code for Africa in a letter addressed to President Aigbokhan, Esq dated 24th day of January 2022, which reads; “Code for Africa is pleased to invite you to serve as a guest speaker (panelist) at our Hacks/Hackers event this month, scheduled to hold on 28th January 2022. Our forthcoming event is themed ‘Journalism and the Nigerian Constitution’. The main objective of this event is to enlighten the community about the provisions in the Constitution for media personnel so that they can know their rights and discharge their duties within the confines of the law. Given your outstanding experience as a human rights activist, one who assists journalists to access public records through litigation and the Country Director of West Africa media lawyers (WAMELA) I believe that you will bring perspectives of journalism and the media as the fourth estate of government on how it manages/reacts to the trends of right infringement faced by journalists from some law enforcement agencies”.

Code for Africa is the continent’s largest technology and data journalism lab. Its headquarter is in Cape Town, South Africa.
