NBA Yenagoa Branch Disburses Palliative Funds to Members To Cushion Effect of Covid-19 Lockdown

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Yenagoa Branch under the Leadership of Felix Okorotie, Esq., earlier today, commenced the disbursement of financial palliatives to interested and deserving members to flatten the curve the Covid-19 pandemic has created following the skeletal operation of courts and the inhibitions placed on other legitimate avenues of earning income.

The exercise which holds in the NBA Yenagoa Secretariat, emphasised social distancing, hand washing/sanitising in a mature, decorous, convivial, confidential and transparent atmosphere under the coordination of the Ben Braye – led 6-wise man committee.

The Branch Chairman, Felix Okorotie, Esq. who commended his Executive Committee and the Palliatives Implementation Committee for the planning/execution heartily appreciates:

Augustine Alegeh, SAN; another SAN name withheld; Chief (Dr) Dennis Otiotio ( Odoni); Sebastine Tar Hon, SAN; Preye Agedah, Esq.; Johnbull Somina Peter, Esq.; Jumbo Soala Fubara, Esq.;Samuel Brisibe, Esq.; Dr. Richard Suofade Ogbe; Chris Yakemewerigha, Esq.; Joyce Oduah, Esq.; Caroline Aituaje Ibharuneafe, Esq. for their goodwill and prayed God Almighty to replenish their treasuries as well as other intending donors.

He thanked all members of the branch for the support and faith in the branch leadership, congratulating beneficiaries for their resilience, understanding and appreciation of the gift from the bar.

The Chairman assured all m embers that their welfare and well-being shall always be a topmost priority of his administration, expressing optimism that this ‘Cup’ shall soon pass for members to resume full-scale legal practice and operation of legitimate businesses.

A press Statement signed by the branch’s Publicity Secretary, Nelson Abali, Esq. states that the NBA Yenagoa Branch had earlier in the month led select professional bodies in the State to procure and distribute hand sanitisers to motor parks, markets, detention centres, hospitals and offices apart from the approval and subsequent distribution of welfare packages to Branch Members on account of their wedding ceremonies, health challenges and related issues.
